About
Architect Jay Blasi was hired by the Northern California Golf Association (NCGA) to revitalize a tired and underutilized Rees Jones public facility in the beautiful Livermore Valley. Through strategic routing, Jay reduced the golf course’s total walking distance by over 2000 yards and its elevation change by 400 feet, making the course more playable and enjoyable for all golfers.
Once construction began, Ecelctic Golf was engaged to design, grade, drain, and shape all bunkers, as well as many of the greens. Jay’s collaborative approach enabled us to also incorporate many of our other ideas into the final design. Poppy Ridge has been an instant success for the NCGA, receiving high praise from GOLF Magazine, the USGA, Fried Egg, and more.

Notes
On certain features, we chose to mimic elements in the expansive view of the distant valley. These mirrored features draw your eye from the foreground to the background and provide both a distinct sense of place and a feeling of harmony within the design.
