About
Wilshire CC reengaged architect Kyle Phillips to complete the final stage of his long-term restoration plan of Norman Macbeth's sporty design on 105 acres in Los Angeles. The main priority was infrastructure improvements, anchored by the restoration of the one-mile-long barranca that runs North-South through the property and has been subject to numerous flooding and erosion events over the years.
Eclectic Golf was hired to build the finishing aesthetic details of the barranca and reintroduce Norman Macbeth's original character into the playing areas. We used a combination of LiDAR technology, historical soil core data, and photographs to identify “the best era of Wilshire” and recreate the bunkers, greens, and tees to modern agronomic standards.
Long a beloved stop on the LPGA tour, when an event returns to this storied LA club in the near future, our work will be on full display. Wilshire will fully reopen in 2026.
